“We ain’t killers. How we gonna live with ourselves if we do this?” Amazon MGM Studios has revealed one final trailer for the movie Is God Is, an adaptation of the award-winning stage play. In theaters nationwide starting in May coming up in a few weeks. And early buzz is great so far! This could be a surprise summer hit. “Redemption. Revenge. Rage.” Twin sisters Racine and Anaia with disfiguring burn scars are ordered by their bedridden mother (known as “SHE” or “God”) to kill their abusive father who caused all the scars. The sisters travel to The Valley to face Man and his new family. They must decide whether to seek vengeance or find mercy. Is God Is is also directed by the same woman who wrote the play – Aleshea Harris – making her debut. Starring Kara Young & Mallori Johnson as the sisters, with Janelle Monáe, Erika Alexander, Mykelti Williamson, Josiah Cross, plus Vivica A. Fox and Sterling K. Brown.
