I think most of us are still stuck in the 90s. It’s not just 90s kids, either; people from before and after that era are just as drawn to its charm. That’s probably why we keep seeing new 90s-themed games pop up all the time. This time, it’s Slumber Realm.

So, what’s Slumber Realm?

You dive into a dreamy, slightly unhinged 90s world, fighting your own childhood fears. But instead of just hacking and slashing, everything revolves around rolling a single d6. It’s this element that decides your entire turn.

And not just one action. Your whole build fires off from that one roll, which can get completely cursed depending on how things go.

A lot of it depends on how you set up your cards before rolling. So, it’s all about sequencing. Like you could have something that applies vulnerable, then something that deals damage on certain rolls, then a shield that triggers on others.

If you line it up right, one dice roll just sets off the whole chain reaction. Once you get like 7 or 8 cards going, it can get a bit wild with effects triggering multiple times, especially with upgrades.

Slumber Realm offers four playable classes, over 150 equipment cards, 30 different memories, and 60 different snacks. You get to fight unique items, like broccoli and other vegetables, a literal spelling bee, and even a werewolf PE coach.

It all takes place in 1997, so you can decorate your crib with 90s memorabilia like retro video games, movie posters, and skateboards. All the character art is made in a detailed way with hundreds of tiny dots, which gives it its handcrafted look. Take a look at Slumber Realm and see for yourself!

Slumber Realm is made and published by Chugga Chugga. It will land on Steam for PC soon!
