Top Hat Studios just had its Spring Showcase 2026 unveiling a bunch of awesome upcoming titles. The one that stands out for me among the Top Hat Studios lineup is Metamorphosis, which is developed by indie dev luxan.

The game has you playing as Aria, a nun who’s been branded a sinner. The goal is basically redemption. You’re stuck in a dead world and trying to make your way to the Golden Star, the last bit of paradise left.
Along the way, you move through massive megastructures, dealing with demons and solving puzzles. You get a whole arsenal with different weapons, faith-based spells, and even a weird OS device you can interrogate for answers.
Exploration lets you deal with secrets, traps, and some pretty grotesque interpretations of salvation depending on which faction you run into. Combat is brutal and risky, with enemies ranging from demons and broken automatons to some messed-up versions of rebirth.
The game also offers some choice-based stuff. Aligning with or going against certain characters who represent different ideologies can change how things play out for the world.
During the Spring Showcase, Top Hat Studios dropped a trailer for Metamorphosis. The visual identity has pseudo-religious imagery mixed with decaying futuristic analogue tech. The colours used reflect oppressiveness in a way that fits the tone. Watch the trailer here.

Top Hat Studios has dropped the demo for Metamorphosis on Steam. It includes three unique weapons, fifteen enemies, two bosses, and around thirty different items, like tools, armour, and spells. It even has twenty-eight different songs already, which is kind of wild for a demo. Only catch is that controller and key-binding support is still partial right now.
