A new action-adventure is out today for PC players. It’s Bylina, a Slavic folklore-inspired RPG developed by Far Far Games and published by Digital Vortex Entertainment. A single-player title, it’s set to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S later in 2026.
If you’re into mythology, you might want to try Bylina
Inspired by Slavic myths, the game follows Kestrel, a young bogatyr, essentially a legendary Slavic knight. His ambitions are living up to his father’s legacy, but his fate leads him into the Thrice-Nine Kingdom. It’s a mysterious realm where he dies early in the story.
But immediately after, he’s revived by an enigmatic spirit that now shares his body. From there, Kestrel has three central goals. Reclaim control over his soul, investigate the ancient mystery associated with the spirit within him, and prevent an impending catastrophe threatening the world.
Along the way, he needs to confront Koschei the Deathless, a powerful sorcerer rooted in Slavic folklore. The story is a morally layered struggle between good and evil. Despite the darker themes, Bylina has its own moments of humour and fun interactions, like dancing with mushrooms.
Gameplay blends exploration, progression systems, and combat across a semi-open world structure. You move through the Land of Towns, which includes a range of environments such as sunlit forests, gloomy dungeons, and imposing castles.
As new regions open up, they introduce unusual inhabitants, hidden treasures, environmental puzzles, and optional side quests. Meanwhile, you can develop Kestrel through a non-linear progression system, unlocking spells, techniques, and combat skills.
Bylina is available now on PC via Steam. At launch, the game is also offering a 30% introductory discount for the first 2 weeks. You can grab the Standard Edition at $24.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition at $29.99.
The Deluxe package includes the base game along with a Digital Artbook, the full Original Soundtrack OST, a Digital Comic Book, Cozy Armor, and the Armor of the Toad King. Also, players who buy the game within the first 30 days will receive a Shroomie Power Armor directly in their inventory.
