Kwalee and Clover Bite have made a new announcement for their next big project. The action-adventure metroidvania sequel of Grime is also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside its already confirmed PC version. The team has also dropped a console announcement trailer for Grime II.
Grime II launches on March 31st, 2026. The original game from 2021 built a strong reputation for its strange world and mechanics. Now, the follow-up brings the same unsettling vibe while expanding things.

The trailer gives us a glimpse at the new setting, updated combat systems, and a range of abilities. Meanwhile, another gameplay trailer gives an early look at systems like the skill tree and inventory. Watch the console announcement trailer for Grime II below.
Grime II puts you back into the role of a Formless, an art mimic that survives by absorbing creatures and reshaping them into usable forms. Exploration is a big part of the title, with different cultures, characters, and environments in the world.
Meanwhile, the setting moves into a new and mysterious land, where every area seems a bit dangerous and sometimes outright bizarre. They’re made out of things like painted nails and giant vases, each with its own civilisation and characters. While fighting through areas, you also understand the world and its inhabitants.

A demo for Grime II is now live on Steam
The demo drops you into the Temple of Hands, an area filled with dangerous enemies and large boss encounters. It also lets you experiment with different weapons, abilities, and mold summons while searching for hidden paths throughout the level. Head over to Steam to get a slice of the game.
