Watch: ‘Project Hail Mary’ Directors Discuss Screen Format Choices

Amazon MGM revealed a fun video with directors Phil Lord & Christopher Miller visiting their favorite cinemas in Los Angeles to show everyone ALL of the different formats, screen sizes, and experiences one can have watching their epic new sci-fi movie Project Hail Mary. Yet another of these promo videos where they discuss the screen experience, film format, projection options, and the best way to watch the movie. Ever since Ryan Coogler’s video for Sinners went viral last year, Hollywood’s marketing machine has been obsessed with making these kind of videos for every big movie. Adapted from Andy Weir’s acclaimed novel of the same name, this is the story of a teacher turned astronaut who tries to save Earth while alone in outer space. The movie stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a spacecraft at Tau Ceti and has to figure out how to save our stars with the help of a new friend. Co-starring Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt, Ryland’s superior. This is one of my most anticipated movies of the year! It looks truly spectacular! And I cannot wait to watch it on the biggest screen around – most likely in IMAX if I can grab a ticket before they sell out.
