“The final decision on D-Day will be mine, and mine alone.” Focus Features has unveiled the first official trailer for a new World War II movie called Pressure, arriving in US theaters to watch starting in May this summer. Studiocanal will be releasing in the UK later in the year in September. It’s about the decision to go forward with D-Day on June 6th, 1944 sending troops into Europe in Northwest France. In the final days before the planned Allied invasion of Europe in 1944, Royal Air Force meteorologist Cpt. James Stagg must deliver a weather report to the Allied high command determining the feasibility of the planned D-Day. The intense war film stars Brendan Fraser as Dwight D. Eisenhower, Andrew Scott as Captain James Stagg, Kerry Condon as Captain Kay Summersby, Damian Lewis as Marshall Bernard Montgomery, Chris Messina as Irving P. Krick, Henry Ashton as John Eisenhower, with Con O’Neill, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Toby Williams, and Max Croes. This seems less like last year’s Nuremberg, more like the Darkest Hour movie with Gary Oldman as Churchill. This trailer also clearly features real archival footage they cleaned up & colorized to put into the film, to go along with all the rest of the performances. Might be good? Fire it up. // Continue Reading ›
