Where I Found the Heartopia Trekking Pole – Treasure Hunt Quest

Where in the world is the Heartopia Trekking Pole? It’s such a random request that I was stumped. By chance, I found it, so I thought I’d share to help all my fellow Heartopia players. I also recently published a feature piece discussing why Heartopia is my current go-to cosy game.

How I Triggered the Treasure Hunt Gossip Quest

Let’s start with unlocking the required Gossip quest in the first place; we can’t get anywhere without that. It’s called Treasure Hunt. The thing is, the process of getting this Gossip quest relies heavily on RNG, which explains why not all players have gotten it yet.

When you get a Story quest requesting you to deliver materials (the materials are not disclosed… suspicious) to the NPCs Cassie and Naughty. These quests are split into two and appear at random. Upon completion of these two Story quests, you need to keep an eye on the map in case the orange quest icon pops up. Once it does, it’s time to head to Naughty.

For this Gossip quest, Naughty resides at the Onsen Mountain, but you can easily track him via the map thanks to the handy dandy Tracking feature. Once you reach Naughty, it’s time to unlock the quest, which requires you to find a… Trekking Pole? Bit of an odd request if I do say so myself.

Where I Found the Trekking Pole

With such an ambiguous request, I don’t blame you for looking up a guide. Even I struggled with trying to find this random item, as I’d never even seen a Trekking Pole in the game before. Thankfully, the solution is simple.

Open the map and look for a red-haired NPC called Vernie. She’s usually around the Flower Fields to the left of the map. When speaking with her, after a quick greeting, you can ask her about this mysterious Trekking Pole.

By some sort of miracle, Vernie knows exactly what you’re talking about. It was somewhere within the fields – literally a needle in a haystack situation. After gathering this important piece of intel, you can head back to Naughty at the Onsen Mountain.

Is the Reward Worth it?

Thanks to your super sleuthing, Naughty presents you with a Retro Desk Lamp for a reward. If you’re going for a full collection (trust me, I know how impossible it seems), then this quest is a must. However, if you don’t really fancy a Retro Desk Lamp for whatever reason, then you can probably skip this Gossip quest.

For me, I don’t care for the Retro Desk Lamp, as it doesn’t match the theme of my Heartopia house. But, as a collector and a hoarder, I still wanted to complete the quest for my Collection records.
