How Does The New Year’s Event Work?

Leading up to New Year’s, a countdown on top of the 2026 plaque on the floor of Moosewood will open hourly, allowing players inside to catch the limited New Year’s Fish.

This quick-time event will be concluded as of the publication of this guide, though I wanted to discuss it anyway as a way to permanently archive this fishy festivity.

What Else Is New

One thing you haven’t yet missed out on is the new New Year’s Rod, obtained from the 2026 Stall Merchant at Moosewood next to the 2026 plaque.

Costing C$20,260, this Rod is pretty cheap considering its average all-rounder stats. It’s by no means a late-game rod, but it’s decent for the cost.

This Merchant also sells a variety of Fireworks, which are cosmetic items that litter the skies of Fisch with a bang. These consumables won’t apply any buffs on use, but they’re a fun commemorative item.
