Where Winds Meet offers a massive, seamless open world for players to explore. Players can use horses and fast travel points for quick navigation purposes. However, these features are not as cool as flying your way to the next POI or for exploration. The nature and atmosphere of Wuxia in Where Winds Meet give the ability to fly. There are various flying-related skills that players can use to achieve the flying techniques. In this guide, we will tell you how to fly in Where Winds Meet.
All Lightness Skills for Flying in Where Winds Meet
Before we get into how to fly, it is best to learn about the Lightness Skills. There are four Lightness Skills available in Where Winds Meet. Each Lightness Skill is flying-related with its unique animation.
Meteor Flight
Thousand-Mile Flight
Fan Glider
Wind Rider
All four of these Lightness Skills allow the player to reach a great height in the sky and fly, covering a great distance. However, these movement skills do not come pre-equipped, meaning the player must unlock one to use it. The Meteor Flight skill is rewarded for completing the “Afterglow” side quest, and is probably the first flying skill that players will unlock. The Thousand-Mile Flight is a fourth log-in reward as part of the Warrior’s Journey path. Lastly, the Fan Glider and Wind Rider both unlock at a higher Qinghe Exploration rank.
Unlock Meteor Flight Skill by Completing Afterglow Quest
To get the initial flying skill for your character, you must complete the Afterglow side quest. It is the fifth quest under the Jianghu Legacy tab. Track the quest and go to the marker location to meet with a fisherman. Speak to him, and you will get to experience the Meteor Flight skill. Once you land on the beach, speak with the fisherman again. He will ask you to complete his challenge. All you have to do is jump on the floating wine jars to reach the boat in the water.
After reaching the boat, speak with the fisherman. Now, pick up the secret Tome (Meteor Flight skill) and the Long Spear on the Ship. It will conclude the quest and also give you the ability to fly. However, you will only be able to fly back to Qinghe from the boat, and then flying will be restricted. Don’t worry, there is a solution to that.
Acquire the Afterglow Pendant
Whenever you try to use the Meteor Flight or any other flying skill, you will get a black screen. It is because flying is restricted in Qinghe, and the only way to access flying is to get the Afterglow Pendant. The Afterglow Pendant is one of the rewards for reaching Qinghe Exploration Rank 4, which is kind of high. It will take you a decent amount of time to reach exploration rank 4. However, once you reach Qinghe Exploration Rank 4, equip the Afterglow Pendant in the Pendant gear slot. It will give you access to flying using any Lightness Skill.
Another thing that is worth mentioning is that you also need to reach Exploration Rank 4 for other regions to fly in them. Otherwise, you will get the same black screen restriction.
