Where Winds Meet offers seven different types of weapons and various gear items, including an armor set, pendant, disc, thumb ring, and bow. As the player progresses through the story and explores, they will find new and better gear items and weapons. All gear items and weapons have unique stats. However, the stats do not increase with the player’s level-up. The player must increase the overall stats affected by the gear by upgrading. Moreover, they can upgrade the specific weapons for further attack damage. In this guide, we will explain how to upgrade gear and weapons in Where Winds Meet.
How to Upgrade Gear in Where Winds Meet
The gear in Where Winds Meet consists of two weapons, an armor set (Helm, Armor, Greaves, and Bracer), Disc, Pendant, Thumb Ring, and Bow. Each gear item has its unique stats, and to upgrade those, the player must enhance the gear slots. Enhancing the gear slots increases the corresponding stats of the gear permanently (not gear-specific). For instance, enhancing the Helm gear slot will provide Max HP for every Helm. Think of this “Enhance” mechanic as a bonus stat, as it adds additional stats respective to the gear slot on top of the original gear’s stats.
Now that you have a generic understanding of it, let’s discuss how to enhance the gear in Where Winds Meet. Open the Gear tab by clicking on the Develop option in the main menu. Select the Enhance option underneath the gear slots. It will open the Enhance menu, where you can upgrade each gear slot. Upgrading or enhancing the gear requires Tong Bao (currency) and various materials.
TIP: Click on the materials to see where to get them.
If you have the required Tong Bao and materials, press Space to enhance the gear slot to a higher level. However, the enhancement of slots also has a Gear Level cap. You must equip a certain Gear Level item or higher to break the cap.

How to Upgrade Weapons in Where Winds Meet
In addition to enhancing slots to get bonus stats for physical attacks, you can upgrade weapons. However, these upgrades are weapon-specific, meaning they do not carry over or apply to other weapons. Open the Abilities tab in the Develop option, and select the weapon you wish to upgrade under the Martial Arts section. After that, press the F key to go to the upgrade menu. It will cost a certain amount of Tong Bao for every level. However, it has a character level cap, meaning you cannot further upgrade a weapon beyond your character level.
Upgrading the weapons will increase the damage of all the skills your selected Martial Arts offers. Moreover, the Martial Mastery and gear tier of the weapon will also increase.
