“I just want to wake up in the morning & feel something.” Allen Media Group has unveiled an official trailer for a movie called Sheepdog, a story about US veterans and their mental health struggles. This isn’t the first film to deal with this topic, there’s actually quite a few of them recently (and I will also recommend My Dead Friend Zoe). A decorated combat veteran is court ordered into treatment when an ex-convict shows up on his doorstep and explains he must work to put himself back together again. Shot on location in Western Massachusetts, Sheepdog is the first film that truly explores the physical & psychological repercussions of trauma, with a focus on Post Traumatic Growth (PTG). It is an uplifting original story, inspired by countless first-hand testimonials about recovery, redemption, and the journey of healing; themes that now mirror our post-pandemic zeitgeist.
