How to Get Mods in The Outer Worlds 2
There are three main types of Mods that you can acquire in The Outer Worlds 2. One for Weapons, one for Armor (body gear), and one for Helmet (headgear). The mods for weapons are weapon-specific, meaning you can only install a pistol sight mod to a respective pistol weapon. The mods for armor and helmets are also unique, but not specific. You can acquire an Armor Mod, and then you can install it in various armor sets.
There are various ways to acquire Mods in The Outer Worlds 2. You can find them through exploration, looting containers, enemy bodies, vendors, and vending machines. The vending machines sell Weapon Mods for all types of weapons. As you acquire any mod, you will learn its recipe. You can craft the mod on the Workbench using the corresponding materials.
How to Install Mods on Equipment in The Outer Worlds 2
To install mods on your equipment, including weapons and armor, you will have to use the Workbench. Go to any Workbench and interact with it. After that, select the Mods option to see the available mods for weapons, armor, and helmets. You can navigate to different sub-tabs of each tab to find the mods easily for a certain equipment.
After locating the mod you wish to install on your equipment, select it and then confirm it. It will not cost you any additional money or materials to install the mod.
NOTE: The installed mod on an item cannot be removed.
However, before installing a mod on any item, make sure that the item has a free slot for the mod. Mostly rare and legendary equipment comes with a pre-installed mod or two. If there is no available space for a mod, you cannot install any additional mod on it.
