Ancient Amber Beetle is one of the Epic Bugs in Palia that is required for Creatures of the Abyss Bundle of Vault of the Roots. Players will be able to unlock this new vault by completing the Temple of the Roots main quest. The bundle requires a couple of bugs and fish that players must find in the wild and contribute to complete it.

This guide will focus on where you can find the Ancient Amber Beetle in Palia.

Where to Find Ancient Amber Beetle in Palia

The Ancient Amber Beetle is one of the rarest beetles in the game that spawns mostly in the forest and wood areas in Bahari Bay. It spawns on the sapwood trees in the northern areas and there is a chance of finding one by cutting down the large sapwood trees as well.  Since the spawn area is extensive, it is not hard to find it.

We found it several times around the mountain area beside the Ancient Aquaduct and the northern areas with a higher chance of finding it are Flooded Steps, The Outskirts, Proudhorn Pass, and the Thorny Thicket.

How to Catch Ancient Amber Beetle in Palia

Catching the Ancient Amber Beetle can be more tricky than other big bugs in Palia as it will take 3 to 4 Standard Smoke bombs to stun it. Therefore, it is essential to throw the Smoke Bombs on it when it is sitting on the tree from a safe distance otherwise, it will get alerted and try to flee in the forward direction. You can also throw the Sticky Smoke Bombs on it to slow it down and then use the regular Smoke Bombs to stun it.

Once you have stunned the Ancient Amber Beetle, simply go near it and interact with it to pick it up. It will drop 0-14 Silk Thread as well on the catch. Upon catching the Ancient Amber Beetle, you can go back to the Vault of the Roots in the Night Sky Temple to contribute it to the bundle.
