Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the second entry in the Pokémon Legends series, following Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which was released in 2022. The new title of the series is certainly starting strong, with sales of 5.8 million units worldwide in the first week, according to the statement from the Pokémon Company. The statement reveals that Pokémon Legends: Z-A sells 5.8 million units worldwide in its opening week, with half of them bought on the new Nintendo Switch 2 console.

Fifth Best-Selling Pokémon Game in the Franchise

These numbers make the new title in the franchise the fifth best-selling game in terms of first-week sales. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has the crown of the most sales in 3 days, standing at 10 million units worldwide. The second number goes to Pokémon Legends: Arceus with 6.5 million units in 3 days. On the third and fourth numbers, Pokémon Sword & Shield and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl stand with 6 million units in 3 days.

Now, if we take a look at the actual game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is unique in terms of combat than other titles in the franchise. It is the first game that includes real-time Pokémon battles throughout the journey. There is no time to create strategies after starting a battle. You must be swift in your actions to fight the opposing Pokémon and save your character from passing out.

Despite the success and new combat feature, fans are upset about the lack of male clothing items and general hairstyle options.
