These Upcoming Indie Games on Steam look incredible, and I can’t wait to play them! While they’re all in development as of right now, there’s always a chance of demos becoming available during Steam Next Fest events. For more on indie games, read our Best Horror Games on Itch.io feature, which highlights my favourite horror titles on the platform!

Upcoming Indie Games on Steam

One of my favourite things is highlighting some of the best indie games around. There are plenty that I’m excited for, and that I’ve been keeping up with, so I thought why not include them in a feature so I can share them all with you! You never know, you might find a game you’ll end up loving.

What I’m Looking Forward to the Most

Here are the games that I’m avidly waiting for and that I’ve added to my wishlist on Steam!

b-e-e-t-l-e: be right back!

I always enjoyed typing games when I was younger, and the same still applies to me now. This title takes you on a slow-paced but cosy journey as you explore and solve puzzles with the power of your keyboard. Featuring adorable graphics as you play as a little green crocodile, you need to find your lost beetle as you search high and low.

Vampire Huntress – Lament of the Sun

Survival horror is one of my favourite genres of video games, so it only makes sense that I’m excited for Vampire Huntress – Lament of the Sun. As Luna Ashcroft, you must explore Castle Whitecairn whilst solving puzzles and fighting off the horrors.

You are a vampire, hunting down her long-lost love, Lord Voltarius. He has returned after a mere 1,000 years away, and it’s up to Luna to find him before he starts rolling the wheels of his grand plan.

Silly Polly Beast

Another survival horror! Yes, I can’t help myself. Like Vampire Huntress, Silly Polly Beast focuses on a female protagonist’s story as she battles against the monstrous foes with her gun. Featuring top-down combat, with side-view exploration, Silly Polly Beast combines some of the best parts of survival horror titles, like Resident Evil, and adds a new splash to create a unique entry.

You must escape the underworld before the demons can reach you…

Witchspire

A much cosier entry in this feature, Witchspire is an open-world survival game where you play as a witch, gathering and crafting items as you hone your magical skills. Tame familiars, create bonds, and build your perfect witchy home.

With a skill tree, unlimited house decorating possibilities, and plenty of challenging battles ahead, Witchspire blends cosy crafting with arcane survival.

Neverway

Fiona quit her job and decided to start a new life on a farm. However, not all goes to plan when she soon finds herself becoming the herald of a dead god, whilst also turning immortal. You’ve got a debt to pay, and to do that, you must work on the farm to make ends meet.

It reminds me of Stardew Valley in a way, especially since there are lots of residents to create friendships with. You can craft your way to a powerful combat build as you fend off strange creatures who threaten the peace of your new farm life.

With a unique colour scheme and well-loved mechanics, Neverway is sure to be an excellent combination of some of the most popular genres in gaming.

Inkonbini

I’ve always liked games where I can work in a shop. There’s something about experiencing the mundanity of real life, but in a video game. In Inkonbini, you work as Makoto Hayakawa in a convenience shop in a small Japanese town, where everyone knows each other. As the locals pop in to buy daily necessities, you get to know them more and more as you enjoy conversations whilst choosing how to respond.

Stock the shelves, tend to customers, and bask in the relaxing vibes, away from the stresses of life, in Inkonbini.
