What Are Meteor Shards?
Meteor Shards are a new type of crafting material in 99 Nights in the Forest, added in the Meteor Shower update. You can use these Meteor Shards to craft items, including turning them into Ingots, which are required materials for other crafting recipes, too.

How to Get Meteor Shards
Meteor Shards are only obtainable after a Meteor Shower event occurs. This event is random most of the time, but has a higher chance of activating after completing day 5. The game lets you know when a Meteor Shower is about to begin, but you need to wait for the morning to arrive to make your way over to the crash sites. Yep, there are multiple of them each time!
By exploring the map, you can find a variety of crash sites after the Meteor Shower event. You then need to mine the meteors on the ground to be in with a chance of getting Meteor Shards, as well as Obsidian Ore, but that’s a different material entirely! If you haven’t mined anything in 99 Nights in the Forest before, don’t worry, you don’t need a new tool to do so, as you can use the axe.
There’s also a small chance for Meteor Crab enemies to drop Meteor Shards upon defeat. These Meteor Crabs wander around the crash sites and close by to the Meteor Anvil.
