How to Complete A Guide to Better Castle-Keeping Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Starting the Quest
A Guide to Better Castle-Keeping quest starts automatically upon completing the Belle, Book, and Candle quest for Lumiere. As players repair the Domestic Manual Book and place it on the display, the A Guide to Better Castle-Keeping quest will start. Speak with Cogsworth to learn about his plans for the celebration.
Find and Place the Fine Cutlery
After speaking with Cogsworth, go to the garden and make your way to the cellar to get the Fine Cutlery. Go down the staircase in the garden to reach the cellar. Interact with the door and retrieve the Fine Cutlery. Once done, go back inside the castle and go to the main hall. Interact with the table beside the piano in the hall to place the Fine Cutlery. After that, speak with Lumiere.
Find the Ingredients and Cook a Charcuterie Board
Lumiere will ask you to explore the castle to find the ingredients and use them to prepare a Charcuterie Board. Here are all the ingredients that you need to find.
Oyster: Inside the Storage Box in the Secret Passageway of the Library.
Creepy Crawly Crab: Inside the Storage Box in the Secret Passageway of the Library.
Chilling Cucumber: On the table in the Library.
Booyère Cheese: On the table in the Library.
Screamed Butter: On the table in the Library.
Upon finding all of the ingredients, go to the cooking station in the secret passageway of the Library. Interact with the cooking station to cook a Charcuterie Board. Once done, make your way back to the main hall and place the dish on the table. After that, speak with Cogsworth.
Find the Materials to Make Rose Garlands
Now, you need to do some decorations around the hall by placing some Rose Garlands. You will have to make Rose Garlands by acquiring the following materials from the garden.
8x Castle Softwood: Destroy the statues in the garden.
3x Rainbow Rose Bouquet: During the “A Growing Mystery” quest for Cogsworth.
3x Castle Detritus: Inside a bag in the garden near the crafting station.
After getting all the materials, go to the crafting station and craft the Rose Garlands. You can find its recipe under the Functional Items tab. Once done, go back to the main hall of the castle and interact with the sparkling spot beside the window to place the Rose Garlands. After that, speak with Cogsworth to let him know that everything is ready.
Put on the Masquerade Mask and Celebrate
After speaking with Cogsworth, open the wardrobe and equip the Masquerade Mask. Once done, take a picture with Lumiere and Cogsworth in front of the Rose Garlands. Now, wait for a moment and listen to Lumiere and Cogsworth’s conversation. After they are done, speak with Lumiere or Cogsworth to see what’s next.
Welcome Lumiere to the Valley
Leave the Beauty and the Beast realm, and Lumiere will arrive in the Valley. Take a picture with Lumiere and speak with him to welcome him. Once done, go to the Beast’s house in the Valley and speak with him. The Beast will give you an invitation letter to give to Cogsworth.
Welcome Cogsworth to the Valley
Now, go back to the Beauty and the Beast realm and speak with Cogsworth to give him the letter. After that, leave the realm and welcome Cogsworth to the Valley by taking a picture and talking to him. Once done, go to the Beast’s house in the Valley and speak with Cogsworth again.
