Grappling Hook is one of the essential tools in Dying Light: The Beast for Kyle Crane. It allows Kyle to reach certain heights or spots that he normally cannot with parkour. You will be able to reach new grounds, swing with trees and buildings, pull enemies closer, and much more. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock the Grappling Hook in Dying Light: The Beast.
How to Unlock the Grappling Hook in Dying Light: The Beast
The Grappling Hook unlocks as a reward for completing the “Some Like It Dark” story mission. There is no specific location for you to go and acquire the Grappling Hook early in the game. The story point that you need to reach is where you meet Sven in a new hideout in the Villa Area. It is northeast of the Old Town area, and you will come here at the end of the Some Like it Dark mission. It is the 8th main mission of the story, and you will be around Level 6 when you reach this area.
As you start the Some Like it Dark mission, you will get the objective to save the stranger, Sven, from Baron’s soldiers. Head to the Villa area and make your way to the marked location. Eliminate the soldiers around the house and make your way in. After saving Sven, he will ask you to locate more survivors at the Farmhouse. Unfortunately, the survivors will not be there, requiring you to search a Baron’s Outpost.
Head to the outpost location and investigate the soldiers to learn the location of the survivors. A soldier will reveal that the survivors have been taken to the Pig Farm nearby. Go to the Pig Farm, eliminate the guards, and make your way to the survivors. After saving the survivors and dropping them off at a safe location, Sven will tell you to meet him at a hideout spot. Meet Sven at the hideout, and he will give you the grappling hook, which concludes the main quest.
Upgrade the Grappling Hook for Better Control
Once you have the grappling hook, you will be able to use it to reach higher grounds in an instant. Moreover, you can also upgrade it up to epic rarity, using the beginner and intermediate manual pages. With the upgraded grappling hook, you will have more control and will be able to pull enemies toward you and knock them down.
