Can you survive an encounter with the 99 Nights in the Forest Ram entity? If you unlock the Gambler Class in 99 Nights in the Forest, you have a chance of starting a run with the Flashlight, which comes in handy against entities.
99 Nights in the Forest Ram
The Ram monster only appears during the nighttime, but not every night! There’s a chance for the Ram to spawn each time the sun sets. If the Ram doesn’t spawn, it’ll be the usual Deer entity instead.
If it’s the Ram who makes an appearance, a cutscene plays, alerting you of its presence, so that you and your teammates can prepare. This entity has a chance to spawn in both the Forest and the Volcano Biomes, and does not appear in the Snow Biome.
However, if there is a Cultist Raid planned for that night, there’s also a chance for the Deer to spawn as well as the Ram. If that happens… good luck!
How to Survive Against the Ram in 99 Nights in the Forest
When facing off against the Ram, it’s important to remember that it deals 25 DMG at the start, which gradually increases depending on the day count. The best way to avoid an attack from the Ram is to stay in the shadows and keep out of its line of sight.
Once the Ram spots you, it charges towards you in a straight path. Due to the path being straight ahead, you can quickly dodge out of the way to prevent the Ram from attacking you. But, this doesn’t get rid of the entity. If it can still see you despite you dodging the charge, it will do it again.
There is a meter that appears on your screen which displays the Ram’s charge level. As its charge power increases, the meter fills up. Once the meter is 100% full, it begins to move towards you at fast speeds.
So, is there a way to defeat the Ram? Nope! Like the Deer (and the Owl entity from a previous update), you cannot defeat the monster. You can at least use a Flashlight item to stun the Ram, stopping it in its tracks for a short duration. If the Ram is charging, the Flashlight stun does not work.
Is the Ram Permanent?
It’s more than likely that the Ram is similar to the Owl entity in that it is only available for a period of time. This has not been confirmed as of right now, but it’s happened before, so there’s always a chance that any new monsters are time-limited. While it looks similar to the Deer, it certainly acts differently!
