The Pale Oil for Pinmaster’s Oil is found inside a room on the left in the Whispering Vaults area of the Citadel. Players will reach the Whispering Vaults during Act 2 of the story. To be more exact, as players progress through the Choral Chambers, they will have to defeat Cogwork Dancers (the main boss). After that, they need to follow the path that will take them to the entrance of the Whispering Vaults. From the entrance of the Whispering Vaults, follow the steps below to reach the room with the Pale Oil.
Head to the right until you reach a point with multiple paths. Drop down from here.
Go to the bottom floor, and you will see a symbol on the right. If you go to the right and go up a secret wall, you will find a bench.
Once you are at the bottom, go to the left side to drop down further.
Go to the right and jump over the box to go down further.
Now, go to the left side and jump up to the platform at the end. After that, you need to reach the platform above to reach the room on the left. If you have a double jump, you can reach it easily. Otherwise, pogo off the enemy to reach the platform.
The room on the left includes a box puzzle. You have to strike the boxes to move them and make your way ahead to the Pale Oil.

Follow the steps below to solve the box puzzle and reach the Pale Oil.
Jump over the first box and strike the second box to the left.
Go up the box and strike the box in the front.
Drop down and strike the box on the ground to the right.
Jump on the box you struck and wall jump above.
Strike the box above you.
Reach the top and go to the right.
Continue up to the top and strike the box to the left.
Go ahead and strike the second last box down.
Go down and strike the second box on the left.
Go ahead and strike the box above.
Hit the lever at the end to open the door.
Enter the room to find the Pale Oil at the end. Moreover, you can hit the lever in this room to open a shortcut to Choral Chambers.
Deliver the Pale Oil to Pinmaster Plinney to Get the Second Needle Upgrade
After acquiring the Pale Oil, fast-travel to Bellhart and speak with the Pinmaster Plinney. Hornet will deliver the Pale Oil, and Plinney will offer you the second needle upgrade. Now, with the needle sharpened again, Hornet will do even more damage with strikes.
