“Fight for what you’ve built!” Never let them take you down! Hulu has debuted a final official trailer for a movie titled Swiped, another story of tech success in America. But instead of being a cautionary tale, this is framed as a story of great achievement in saying F you to The Man. From filmmaker Rachel Lee Goldenberg, it’s premiering at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival this week and will be streaming on Hulu to watch later in September. Swiped is inspired by the story of Whitney Wolfe (now Whitney Wolfe Herd), founder and former CEO of the dating app / platform known as Bumble. It was created when she was ousted from Tinder and she decided to create an alternative version where women are the only ones who can starting talking with a match. Lily James stars as Whitney, along with Clea DuVall, Dermot Mulroney, Pierson Fode, Joely Fisher, Myha’la, and Dan Stevens playing Badoo founder & CEO Andrey Andreev (who was a key investor in Bumble which allowed them to start).
