Hollow Knight: Silksong offers various skills that help Hornet perform unique abilities. The skills play a crucial role in strengthening the Hornet, enabling her to outperform her opponents. One of the essential skills that players can get is the Drifter’s Cloak. It is a Glide ability that allows Hornet to fall slowly and float in the air. This helps in both combat and traversing the world. In this guide, we will tell you how to get the Drifter’s Cloak Glide ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
How to Get Drifter’s Cloak Glide Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
The Drifter’s Cloak ability is given as a reward upon completing the “Flexile Spines” task for Seamstress. Seamstress is an NPC that players can find on the bottom right side of the Far Fields area. The Far Fields area is accessible after acquiring the Swift Step (dash ability) and defeating Lace (boss) in Deep Docks. Once in the Far Fields, continue to the right and go to the second room. Stick to the lower path to avoid the fight and continue to the next room. In the third room, jump on the platforms to make your way to a small room on the right to find Shakra. Make sure to purchase the Far Fields map from Shakra.
TIP: Purchase the Map and Compass from Shakra to always locate your position. Eliminate the rosary enemies to farm Rosaries and purchase the maps and other useful tools.
After getting the map, continue ahead and down. Follow the bottom path to come across a big red floating tent. Enter inside to find Seamstress. Speak with Seamstress and accept the Flexible Spines wish.
How to Complete the Flexible Spines Wish for Seamstress
Seamstress will request you to hunt Hokers in Far Fields and collect 25 Spine Cores. Hoker is a floating enemy with spines around it. You can find several Hokers just to the room on the right side of Seamstress’s house. Upon finding a Hoker, attack it to make it shoot the spine in multiple directions. Now, hit the spine and it will start to glow. Interact with it while it is glowing to pick up the spine.
NOTE: The glowing spines only last a few moments, so you have to hurry to collect them.
After picking up the spines, hit the Hoker again to make it shoot more spines. It will take three hits to kill a Hoker, and it will shoot several Spines on every hit. You can easily farm spines from the Hokers, and you can respawn them by simply leaving the room and coming back in.
Once you have 25 Spines, go back to Seamstress and speak with her. It will complete the Flexible Spines wish, and a brief cutscene will play. She will make you a new cloak, the Drifter’s Cloak. After the cutscene, you will receive the Drifter’s Cloak, which will allow you to glide in the air.
How to Use the Drifter’s Cloak Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Hold the X/A button to use the Drifter’s Cloak ability. It does not use any silk upon usage, so you can use it freely. Use it to glide in the air to cover more distance. It will allow you to reach certain platforms that you normally cannot. Moreover, you can combine it with the Swift Step ability for more mobility. Last but not least, it is very effective in dodging longer ground attacks.
