The 99 Nights in the Forest Big Game Hunter is known to be the best for speedrunners! How many days have you survived in 99 Nights in the Forest? See where we’ve ranked this class in our 99 Nights in the Forest Class Tier List.

99 Nights in the Forest Big Game Hunter

The Big Game Hunter class costs 600 Diamonds, making it an expensive option! However, many players believe that it’s an ideal choice for speedrunners due to its passive abilities. Is it true?

Big Game Hunter Abilities

The Big Game Hunter class begins with a Rifle, and you even get 12x Rifle Ammo to get you started. From level 1 to level 3, you unlock more passives that you can utilise!

Level 1
Requires: The class starts at level 1, so you automatically unlock this ability! You can consume animal Pelts to unlock buffs that remain for the whole game
Level 2
Requires: Consume 50 Pelts and defeat 70 WolvesWhen defeating animals, they have a chance to drop Pelts. With the Big Game Hunter class, the drop chance of these Pelts is much higher
Level 3
Requires: Consume 100 Pelts and defeat 150 WolvesBy eating Mammoth Tusks, your HP replenishes, and you can do this indefinitely

Pelt Buffs

Here are the potential buffs that you can get by consuming Pelts as a Big Game Hunter. These buffs last the entire game, and you can stack them! You can only consume each type of Pelt a certain number of times, though.

Wolf Pelt

Alpha Wolf Pelt
You have a 10% chance of replenishing Ammo when shooting a weaponLimit: 3
Bear Pelt
Increases your HP by 25Limit: 5
Arctic Fox Pelt
Increases your Warmth, which can then stack when equipping a hatLimit: 3
Polar Bear Pelt
Increases your DMG by 10%Limit: 3

Is the Big Game Hunter Class Good For Speedrunners?

Because you can consistently increase your DMG output and maximum HP, I’d say so! With a Rifle and Rifle Ammo, you’re off to a strong start, allowing you to fend off Wolves and Cultists. Whilst there is a limit to how many of each Pelt you can consume, if you manage to get all of them, your stats are through the roof. There’s also the Level 3 ability, which allows you to replenish your own HP with Mammoth Tusks.

The high DMG output and increased HP make you much stronger in combat. This, in turn, means you can defeat enemies much more easily, helping you to save the missing kids quickly, thus completing the game.
