“Get me out of here!” “There is no ‘out of here…'” Studiocanal is re-releasing the 1990 cult favorite thriller Jacob’s Ladder with a brand new 4K restoration this year and they’ve unveiled a new trailer to promote the update. The film is considered one of the best dark, entrancing, paranoia psychological thriller films of the 90s and was already remade a few years ago (watch this trailer). The powerful, visually striking thriller stars Tim Robbins as a Vietnam veteran wrestling with tragedy and troubled by hallucinations in NYC. He must decipher reality and life from his own dreams, delusions, and perceptions of death in what is described as a “cross between Taxi Driver & The Twilight Zone.” Stunningly shot, with an ominous score by Maurice Jarre, it’s a moving, viscerally shocking, gripping character study lead by a tremendous central performance from Robbins. The movie also stars Danny Aiello, Ving Rhames, Matt Craven, and Elizabeth Pĕna.
