Capture the Sun Quest Guide in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Capture the Sun is the first Friendship Quest for Joy in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Players will be able to pursue this quest after unlocking Joy as a villager. Joy is settling in the Valley and needs some help bringing fun to the Valley. In this guide, we will walk you through the Capture the Sun quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Complete the Capture the Sun Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Starting the Quest

To initiate the Capture the Sun quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players will have to reach Friendship Level 2 with Joy. In addition to that, players must have unlocked the following characters for the quest to be triggered.

Donald Duck

Vanellope

Scrooge McDuck

Sadness

Upon fulfilling all the requirements, the Capture the Sun quest will become available. Go and speak with Joy to start the quest.

Find the place for a game of Capture the Sun

Upon speaking with Joy initially to begin the quest, hang out with Joy, and go to the following locations to take a picture with her.

The southern edge of the Meadow.

Near the Wishing Well in the Plaza.

The inside of the Dream Castle.

After taking the pictures, speak with Joy to decide the final location for the game. Joy will decide the Dream Castle as the location for a game of Capture the Sun.

Recruit players for the game of Capture the Sun

Now, you need to go and speak with the following villagers to recruit them for the game.

Merlin.

Donald Duck.

Goofy.

Vanellope.

Once done, go and speak with Joy to confirm the recruitment of the villagers. Moreover, she will ask you to get some Flag Poles for the game.

Gather the materials and craft Flag Poles

After speaking with Joy, you need to gather the following materials.

5x Yellow Daisy: Forage from the ground in the Peaceful Meadow biome.

10x Softwood: Spawn near the trees in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Forest of Valor, and Glade of Trust biomes.

1x Topaz: Mine the mining nodes in the Plaza to find one.

Upon gathering all of the materials, go to any crafting station to craft five Flag Poles. You can find the recipe for the Flag Poles under the “Functional Items” tab of the crafting station.

Dress up and enter the Dream Castle

After crafting the Flag Poles, you need to get ready for the game. Open the Wardrobe and wear any yellow clothing item. Navigate to the Requests section of the wardrobe to find all eligible yellow clothing items. Once done, go to the Dream Castle and take a picture with everyone before the game. After that, speak with Joy to begin playing Capture the Sun.

Grab three Floating Suns

As the game begins, you will see several floating suns roaming inside Dream Castle. Follow and interact to catch them. After catching three Floating Suns, you need to come back to the bottom floor and interact with your Flag Pole. The player’s Flag Pole will be the middle one. Interact and place all three floating suns to secure a victory.

Receive your prize

After securing the victory, speak with Joy in Dream Castle to receive your prize. She will give you a pink bag with your prize in it. Open the inventory and select the bag to see your prize. It will be a Plush Bear Head, an odd prize for winning a game. Talk to Joy about the prize and go through the dialogues. As the conversation ends, the Capture the Sun quest will conclude.

Rewards

Completing the Capture the Sun quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley will give you 440 Friendship Points as a reward.
