Doors Bramble Guide – Encountering

Bramble is almost akin to a boss within The Great Outdoors update, appearing only towards the end of this event’s run within The Hedge Maze (2,500 M).

How To Overcome Bramble

If snared by Bramble, the player will instantly die, so it’s best to avoid it if you know how.

Bramble stalks its way around slowly, periodically switching on its lantern head for better vision. When the lantern is on, Bramble can see player movements, so you need to stay still to avoid triggering it. When the lantern is off, you’re free to roam safely and manoeuvre around it.

Be wary of any lamposts, as if players stray too far from Bramble, it will change its position and re-emerge using a closer lampost. This sneaky strategy allows it to close the distance, sometimes unbeknownst to unsuspecting players.

Bramble Attacks

If Bramble sees the player move when his light is on, he will immediately perform one of two attacks, depending on distance:

Long range: Conjure thorny vines beneath the player to damage them before giving chase. The player must break the line of sight by hiding behind a wall, in a closet, or standing still if his light goes out.Close Range: Instantaneous death. Bramble will lunge at the player and immediately kill them. If you have a Lotus (From Grampy NPC), you can revive once.

The Great Outdoors Ending – Spoiler Warning!

Inside the Hedge Maze, survivors are tasked with chopping three large vines from within the Maze. Each time a vine is snapped, Bramble makes it harder for the player to move around the maze freely. On the final vine, he gives chase, so I recommend ensuring the final vine is close to the exit.

During the final cutscene, Bramble appears to grab the player, but is stopped from killing them thanks to the Groundskeeper leaping on him and brawling, causing the bridge to give way, and the player falls into the sewers, reemerging in The Mines.
