Acquiring clean drinking water is essential to maintain hydration in Grounded 2. Players have to get clean water to survive throughout the adventure, constantly. It is because drinking dirty water in Grounded 2 inflicts players with sickness, which drops the hunger meter, causing players to eat more to survive through the day. How to Get Clean Water in Grounded 2
The Clean Water is only obtained from the water droplets on the grass. As you explore more of the park after the tutorial, you must keep a close eye on any droplets on the grass above you. If you see any shiny transparent droplet on the grass, it is a water droplet. Now, to get the water droplet, you need to hit the grass. You can do this either by shooting an arrow at the grass or by hitting the root of the grass with the Omni-Axe. It will shake the grass enough to drop the water droplet onto the ground. Now, go to the water droplet on the ground and interact with it to drink it, and quench your thirst.
NOTE: While exploring the world, you might come across some juice droplets as well on various items. Drinking the juice droplets also fills up the hydration.
How to Store Clean Water in Grounded 2
After learning the base method to get clean water, it’s time to learn how to store it. It is because you might not need to drink the water straight away, and drink it later during the exploration. To store clean water, you need a Canteen, a storage pouch. Players can craft the Canteen at the Workbench with 3x Grub Hide and 2x Crude Rope. The Crude Rope is one of the earliest crafting recipes that you will learn in the game. However, for the Grub Hide, you must unlock the Shovel upgrade for your Omni tool.
If you are following the main questline, the game will tell you to get the Shovel upgrade at the Ranger Station. After getting the Shovel upgrade, you need to hunt the Grubs. The Grubs travel underneath the dirt and leave a small dirt path while traveling. If you see any movement underneath the ground, it will probably be a grub. Use the shovel on the dirt trail to pull out the grub and use your weapon of choice to kill it. Loot the Grub to get its hide and sludge.
Craft a Canteen to store it in your inventory. Now, you will be able to store up to two water droplets in your canteen and drink them whenever you want. Equip the Canteen in your hand to get the Scoop option every time you go near a droplet. Scoop the droplet to store it in the Canteen. In addition to that, if you build a Water Container at your base, you can use the Canteen to transfer water to it. This will allow you to have a decent amount of water at the base. You can then take water from the water container every time you are heading out for exploration.
