If you have the Tanuki pet in Grow a Garden, you’ll notice its ability mentions mischief. But what is the Grow a Garden Tanuki mischief, and what can you expect it to do in your garden? It’s also worth finding out if the Tanuki Steal Crops in Grow a Garden as well.

What Is The Grow a Garden Tanuki Mischief?

The Tanuki’s description is that it “occasionally causes mischief by doing random actions in the player’s garden.” Right now, these are all of the things this sneaky pet can do. Despite rumours online, the Tanuki can’t steal crops, which is always a bonus!

Give crop mutations, specifically:
Moonlit Mutation (x2)Chilled Mutation (x2)Choc Mutation (x2)
Gives XP to itself, making it age fasterRewards you with Sheckles
At the moment, it can be anything between 300 to 1,000 Sheckles
Advances another pet’s cooldown ability by one minute. The pet has to be active in your garden for this to happen

Obtaining The Tanuki

If you want your very own mischievous pet, you can get one from a Zen Egg. It has a 20% chance of hatching. You can get these eggs by purchasing one for 30 Chi from the Zen Shop. Or, if you’ve unlocked certain stages of the Zen Tree, you will obtain the Zen Egg as a reward.

There is the option of trading. However, you need to be careful, as many players may attempt to scam you. Make sure you check the official Discord server and ask people to vouch for someone you want to trade with.

Is The Tanuki Worth It?

I have a Tanuki, so I may be biased, but I think it’s worth it! Having crops obtain mutations, even if they only increase the value by a small amount, is always handy. The chance of additional Sheckles is always ideal as well. Not to mention, it’s a very cute pet.
