“The only thing scarier than a plane crash is a plane crash full of violent inmates.” Uh oh. Doesn’t sound good. Apple TV has revealed a first look announcement teaser confirming the release of the series titled The Last Frontier. It’s set to arrive for streaming on Apple TV+ starting on October 10th this fall. Of course this just reminds me of Con-Air. Though it looks more like Con-Air meets The Grey (the 2011 Liam Neeson survival thriller). The series follows Frank Remnick, a U.S. Marshal in charge of the quiet and weathered barrens of Alaska, as he needs to deal with a prison transport plane crash full of violent inmates inside his jurisdiction. Jason Clarke stars as Remnick, along with Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth, Tait Blum, & Alfre Woodard. I also recognize Clifton Collins Jr. on the plane. With episodes directed by filmmakers John Curran (director of The Painted Veil, Stone, Tracks, Chappaquiddick, Mercy Road) and Sam Hargrave (director of Extraction 1 & 2).
