How to Complete the Mine Mystery Quest in Palia
Starting the quest
Starting the Mine Mystery quest will require the player to reach Friendship Level 2 with Hodari and complete the A Family Squabble quest. Upon reaching Level 2 and completing the prerequisite quest, a quest marker will appear on Hodari. Go and speak with Hodari to initiate the Mine Mystery quest.
Bring 5 Iron Ores to Hodari
After starting the quest, you need to get 5 iron ores and bring them to Hodari. If you have iron ores in your inventory, speak to Hodari again to give them to him. If not, then find some Iron Nodes and mine them to gather iron ores. You can find the Iron Nodes on top of the cliffs and inside the cavern areas in the Bahari Bay map zone. After gathering 5 Iron Ores, go back to Hodari and speak to him.
Wait to find out more
After bringing the ores to Hodari, the quest will update, requiring you to wait. Go to your housing plot area, and you will find Najuma. Speak to her and she will tell you about the mines. After speaking with Najuma at your housing plot area, go to Hodari and speak with him about the haunted mines.
Catch 5 Paper Lantern Bugs
Hodari thinks that the mines are not haunted; they are just dark. He will tell you to catch some lantern bugs to light up the mines. To catch the Paper Lantern Bugs, go to the coastal areas of the Bahari Bay during the evening and night. The Paper Lantern Bugs spawn in the coastal areas from 6 PM to 3 AM (in-game time). Search in areas like Beachcomber Cove, Lighthouse Lagoon, and Coral Shores to have a high chance of catching the lantern bugs.
After catching 5 Paper Lantern Bugs, go back to Hodari and speak to him. Give him the bugs and go through the dialogues to conclude the quest.
