“Onward to Athens!” Freestyle Digital Media has debuted a trailer for the indie film A Spartan Dream, or just Spartan Dream, described as a fun “romantic fantasy comedy where history, myth, and love collide.” The film won Best Feature Film at Prague Actors & Filmmakers Film Festival earlier in 2025, and awards at the Cyprus Film Festival in 2024. Brad, a New Jersey daydreamer obsessed with ancient Sparta, is sent to Greece to sell his family’s old village home — but the gods have other plans. When he meets the brilliant and beautiful Gorgo, everything changes. With divine inspiration and a warrior’s heart, Brad sets out to save the house, win her love, and rally a country behind a historical cause. Starring Peter Bundic as Brad, Georgia Mesariti as Gorgo, with Katerina Didaskalou, Renos Haralambidis, Kostas Koroniaos, and Nikos Tsergas. Filmed entirely on location in Greece. A “delightful story of a young man who… ends up fighting for love in an epic battle with history itself.” It looks like it has some charm and some absurdity with him trying to pretend he’s a Spartan and march on Athens.
