“Just stick to lip reading. Leave the detection to us.” BritBox has revealed the official US trailer for a British streaming series titled Code of Silence, a crime thriller from ITVX. Created by writer Catherine Moulton, Code of Silence just launched in the UK in May – it’ll be streaming on BritBox in the US later this month. Alison Woods, a Deaf caterer, works to support her mother, and herself by working at a canteen at a police station. Alison is asked by the police to lip-read conversations with bad criminals – she helps them track a criminal gang plotting a jewellery heist. Alison starts to fall for one of the suspects when she begins to work undercover, but will not abandon the investigation. Starring Rose Ayling-Ellis as Alison, Kieron Moore as Liam, with Charlotte Ritchie, Andrew Buchan, Nathan Armarkwei Laryea, Joe Absolom, and Beth Goddard. It sounds like there’s much more going on here than just a cops vs robbers story, not only about her life as a Deaf woman, but also the many complexities of falling in love with a criminal. Get a look. // Continue Reading ›
