An indie team under the banner InEv Games is working on a narrative-focused roguelite RPG called Kardiya: The Winds of Fate. It’s a dice-building game, where you collect, modify, and strategically combine dice to influence probabilistic outcomes within a system.
It is InEv’s second title in the Gaia universe. Mixing different elements together, the game offers the idea that there are no wrong choices during a playthrough. Meanwhile, their previous release for PC was Livber: Smoke and Mirrors, a psychological horror visual novel.
What’s the story in the roguelite RPG Kardiya: The Winds of Fate?
It follows a character named Ukral, whose life takes a drastic turn after his father is murdered. At the age of twelve, Ukral leaves behind his noble life and begins a long journey driven by revenge.
The dice-building system allows both success and failure to take the story forward. Failed rolls are not always straightforward losses. Sometimes they simply steer events in a completely different direction.
In the game, the dice are referred to as Digoksin dice. Sometimes the dice cooperate, and things go smoothly. Other times, they just don’t!
The gear you gather gradually defines what kind of person Ukral becomes. Some items strengthen physical abilities and give him a more muscular style of play. Others focus on wisdom or intelligence, and some help handle social situations more smoothly.
Throughout the journey, Ukral recruits companions who travel with him. Each companion comes with their own motivations, expectations, and personal secrets. These bonds are there to actively shape the story.
When a run ends, Ukral awakens in a place called Araf, a mysterious realm between life and death. From there, you can unlock new powers and begin another journey through Kardiya with more knowledge and stronger tools than before.
So, yeah, that’s all about InEv Games’ roguelite RPG Kardiya: The Winds of Fate. You can check it out on Steam. The release date isn’t announced yet.
