Arcadia-7 (the alien planet in StarRupture) is a big place to explore that offers various points of interest, including Underground Caves, Abandoned Bases, and Alien Monoliths. Initially, the players will run into these locations via exploration. However, they will not be able to track them, because there is no map in the beginning. To get a better top-down view of all the discovered locations and the planet, the players must unlock the map. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock the map in StarRupture.
How to Unlock the Map in StarRupture
Unlocking the map in StarRupture will require you to reach Level 3 in Moon Energy Corporation. It can be done in two different ways.
Deliver 500 Calcium Ores to the Orbital Launch Station
Deliver 1,500 Data Points to the Corporate Terminal
Out of these two methods, the straightforward and easy one is the second one. Gathering Data Points is easy, especially if you know how to farm them.
Where to Find Calcium Ores in StarRupture
For the first method, you will have to track down a Calcium deposit. It looks a bit familiar to the titanium deposit. From the spawn point of the game, head north of the pond to come across the Calcium deposit. It is out of bounds of your base, so you cannot place an Extractor to harvest Calcium Ores quickly. You must use the Harvester to harvest 500 Calcium Ores.
After gathering Calcium Ores, head back to the base and initiate the Moon Energy Corporation Commission in the OCL. Select the Moon Energy Corporation in all OCLs and manually add the Calcium Ores. Wait for the Commission to complete, and you will reach Level 3 in Moon Energy Corporation. After that, all you have to do is claim the map from the Corporate Terminal.
How to Get Data Points in StarRupture
The best method to get high amounts of Data Points is to deliver Meteorite Cores and Ignitium to the Analysis Terminal. Ignitium is a special resource that appears on the ground after the Rupture event. It is a total planet annihilation event that takes place after every few in-game days. After surviving the Rupture event in your base, head outside as soon as the event ends to find Ignitium. Gather around 4-5 Ignitium and deliver them to the Analysis Terminal. It will reward you with 1,500 – 2,000 Data Points.
After getting enough amount of Data Points, head over to the Corporate Terminal. Spend 1,500 Data Points in the Moon Energy Corporation to reach Level 3. Once done, you can claim the Map from the terminal.
How to Reveal More Area on the Map
Upon unlocking the map by any method, you can then open the map by pressing the M key. It will give you a top-down view of the areas you have discovered. If you wish to reveal more of the map, you must find and activate the Geo Scanners. These are special antennas across Arcadia-7. Go over to the Geo Scanners and activate them to initiate the scanning process. While a Geo Scanner is active, the players will have to defend it from Vermin (creatures) for two to five enemy waves. After successfully defending the Geo Scanner, a large portion of the area will be revealed on the map.
