“Is anybody looking out for her?” A24 has revealed the full official trailer for the film The Moment, a meta mockumentary pop star film made by the artist known as Charli XCX. It was just announced yesterday as a world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in January, then it will be released immediately after in theaters starting January 30th. Based on her own idea, the film is about a rising pop star who navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her next arena tour. Made by a music video director as his first feature film – which is why it has the same style as a music video but extended into a chaotic movie about the music industry. Starring Charli xcx, Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Kylie Jenner, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell, plus Rachel Sennott & Alexander Skarsgård. Quite an impressive cast but unless you’re a big Charli XCX fan, this doesn’t look like it will be worth watching at all.
