Strategy fans, take note. The Fallen Ether’s Kickstarter campaign is on the way, with a chance to get some pre-release rewards and fund a small team’s project.
Unite A Broken World
So what is The Fallen Ether? It’s a turn-based strategy game set in a fantasy world where the very foundation of magic lies in chaos, and war ravages the land as Kings and nobles battle over the realm. You are a young prince with dreams of raising an army and mastering the forces of the Ether, shattered by the coming of the black dragon. It won’t be an easy task, though, and you will need to become a great general in your own right to succeed.
In Fallen Ether, conflicts take place across sprawling hex maps. Combat is a turn-based affair, utilising dice and cards, and dependent on your troop placement and how you call your maneuvers.
You can embark on a full campaign with branching paths based on your choices, hop into skirmish mode for a quick battle to stay sharp, or face off against players from around the globe in Tournament Mode.
Mobile Game Without The Mobile Game Downsides
While it’s a mobile title, The Fallen Ether sets out to avoid some of the more annoying trappings that can come with the platform. No soul-destroying grind, no gacha, and no pay-to-win mechanics. Instead, it’s all about skill, tactics, and getting the most out of your army.
All going to plan, the full title is expected by the end of 2026 for Android and iOS, with a PC port set to follow in the months after.
So, what’s up for grabs for backers? There are a lot of the things you might expect from Kickstarter rewards. Early access, your name in the credits, backer exclusive skins and titles. There are a few slightly more unusual ones, too.
The €250 Fae Tier, and the €500 Dragon Tier give backers a chance to create their own two-player, or four-player skirmish map, respectively, and the Dragon tier also gives you a chance to work with the dev team to design a Legendary Beast that will appear in-game.
If you’re interested in backing, or want some more info, then you can check the Kickstarter, and receive a notification when the campaign kicks off…. pun intended. Make sure you join the Discord page too!
