Charlotte Ritchie & Tanya Moodie in UK Dark Comedy ‘Hostages’ Trailer

“Well it can’t get much worse, can it?” Signature Ent. has debuted the official trailer for a crazy new dark comedy from the UK titled Hostages, made by filmmaker Jim Owen. This initially premiered at the 2025 Manchester Film Festival earlier this year and it’s on VOD (though only in the UK) this December. It is a social commentary dark comedy set around a scary incident. After a terrifying explosion in a London hotel, three strangers escape together and hide out in a room. Hostages is a comedy about the 24hr news cycle, “experts”, and whether or not social media is more important than people’s lives. (It is.) A British comedy thriller about 5 people caught in an unfolding terrorism situation. The indie film stars Charlotte Ritchie, Tanya Moodie, Nicholas Asbury, Raj Ghatak, Luke McQueen, Nick Helm, Rachel Stubbings, Jack Barry, Georgie Jones, and Simon McCoy.
