“I hear you, Tony… But holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” Row K Entertainment has debuted the excellent official trailer for the terrific film Dead Man’s Wire, which received a fantastic ovation and tons of great reviews playing across many film festivals. Dead Man’s Wire is the latest film directed by American filmmaker maestro Gus Van Sant, an entirely true story from the 70s about a hostage situation. “His revolution was televised.” Based on a true story, the 1977 kidnapping of a prominent banker grips the nation and turns the everyman abductor (starring Bill Skarsgård) into an outlaw folk hero. As the media frenzy peaks, the standoff becomes a spectacle of desperation, defiance and blurred justice, which resonates even today. With Bill Skarsgård as Tony Kiritsis, Dacre Montgomery as Dick Hall, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, Colman Domingo, and Al Pacino. I caught this at the Venice Film Festival (read my review) and the audience went nuts – they were full-on cheering & applauding at the end. I got a feeling this movie is going to be big when it opens soon! What a great trailer – totally captures the vibe. // Continue Reading ›
