“I’m worried about you, my friend.” Cohen Media Group has unveiled the official US trailer for the indie film Franz, a historical biopic film made by Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland. This premiered at the fall festivals – Toronto, San Sebastian, Chicago, and others. It’s made by a Polish filmmaker and is officially Poland’s submission to the 98th Academy Awards. However, Franz Kafka was born to a German & Yiddish–speaking Czech Jewish family in Prague in 1883 – so he’s actually part Czech, part German, and lived mainly in Prague for most of his life. Award-winning director Agnieszka Holland’s most ambitious project to date – a biopic of the iconic 20th-century Czech writer Franz Kafka. Conceived as a kaleidoscopic mosaic, the film follows the imprint Kafka left on the world from his birth in 19th-century Prague to his death in post-WW1 Vienna. Holland’s Franz will offer audiences a brand new perspective on the real life of the man behind the literary giant. Starring newcomer Idan Weiss as a young Franz K, with Jenovéfa Boková, Peter Kurth, Ivan Trojan, Sandra Korzeniak, Katharina Stark, Sebastian Schwarz, and Aaron Friesz. They’re pushing this film for awards season before it’s out in theaters early 2026 in art house cinemas. Have a look. // Continue Reading ›
