Shogen Fights Back on a Desert Island in ‘Lone Samurai’ Action Trailer

“Nothing less than their heads!” Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller samurai movie called Lone Samurai, made by American filmmaker / producer Josh C. Waller. This just premiered at Beyond Fest 2025, where they explain in the intro: the film “reimagines the classic samurai epic through an intimate, hallucinatory lens. When a violent and reckless ronin is shipwrecked on a remote island, he’s left with no outlet for his rage—only the ghosts of his past and the unforgiving landscape around him now. As isolation corrodes his mind, his search for peace turns into a brutal spiritual trial, one that blurs the line between reality and nightmare.” The film stars Japanese actor Shogen (real name Shogen Itokazu) as Riku, along with Keigo Sunagawa, Yuma Sunagawa, Sumire Ashina, and badass Indonesian actor Yayan Ruhian you’ll recognize from The Raid films.
