What Does The Fisch Passive Block Mean?
Passive Block refers to when a specific fish species negates the convenience of a rod’s passive to make the catch minigame retain its difficulty regardless of the user and their rod.
In short, this means certain rod skills will not aid in the capture of fish, typically rare and hard to lure species, such as those with hard resilience and negative progress speed debuffs.
This doesn’t work on every rod, however, nor does it apply to every fish that’s hard to catch. Only some fish apply passive blocks, and those that do only work on certain rods.

Not all passives stop functioning when catching certain passive blocking fish, as seen in the case of the Kraken Rod, Spiritbinder, and Bat Whisper.
The only time passive blocking fails is if the fish itself was caught as the passive skill triggered.
Some Exceptions To The Rule
This rule doesn’t apply to passives that catch the same fish that have previously been caught, triggering the passive. This includes:
Anomalous EnchantGhastly EnchantBrother’s RodFang of the Eclipse
In even rarer cases, some rods have built-in passives to bypass the Passive Block of fish.
