The Commander’s Safe is inside the Commander’s Room, or the player’s room inside the Incognito, the ship. The room is on the first floor, on the left side, while standing in front of the ship’s cockpit. If you enter the room, you can find the safe in the back corner.

How to Open the Commander’s Safe in The Outer Worlds 2
There are two ways to open the Commander’s Safe in The Outer Worlds 2. The first method is to get the Commander’s Safe Key, and the second method is to unlock it with a Mag-Pick. However, the second method requires the Level 4 Lockpick Skill. If you are finding the Safe after a while in your playthrough, then you might have enough Level in the Lockpick Skill to open it.
Usually, most players will find this Safe early while exploring the Incognito Ship. If you want to unlock it straightaway, then you must get the Commander’s Safe Key.
Where to Find the Commander’s Safe Key in The Outer Worlds 2
The Commander’s Safe Key is located inside the Engine Room of the Incognito. It is the final room of the ship in the back. Go to the Engine Room and crouch through the big wires at the back. Look at the floor and you will spot the Commander’s Safe Key.
Open the Safe and Collect the Items
After finding the Commander’s Safe Key, go back to the Commander’s Room. Use the Safe Key to open the safe. Opening the Safe with the Safe Key grants you 3,000 XP. The Safe will have the following items that you can take.
