Catching the Pumpkin Rockhopper is easier than most bugs in Elderwood. It is because you don’t have to find it, as it comes into the radius of Jack O’ Lantern Lure when it’s active. However, the Jack O’ Lantern Lure is not a common Lure. The only way to get it is by completing the Spiritfest bundles at the Bulletin Board. A player can get a total of 4 Jack O’ Lantern Lures from the bundles: 2 from the Shrine Offerings and 2 from the Candy bundles.

After acquiring a Jack O’ Lantern Lure, go anywhere in the Elderwood and place it down. As soon as the lure starts, the Pumpkin Rockhoppers will start coming around it. Equip the Smoke Bombs and throw them at the bugs to stun them. Additionally, stunning the Pumpkin Rockhopper will require a few Smoke Bombs, so make sure you bring enough to stun it when you find it. Once you have stunned the Pumpkin Rockhopper, go near it and interact with it to pick it up.
