A recent 99 Nights in the Forest update allows you to tame animals, with one of them being the secret 99 Nights in the Forest Kiwi pet. This isn’t the only secret available in the game, as rumour has it, there is a 5th Child in 99 Nights in the Forest.
99 Nights in the Forest Kiwi
Despite the name, the Kiwi animal doesn’t resemble a Kiwi! It is a small bird-type creature. Once you tame one, you can befriend it, and it will follow you around the map. When interacting with it, you can make it sit down, release it, or rename it.
Kiwi Location
Kiwis are very rare to come across, and there isn’t a specific location to find them. There is a chance for you to find one in the forest, but that’s all we can say! Many players are reporting that they had an increased chance of coming across these creatures once they upgraded their campfire to the maximum level.
How To Tame
If you want to tame the Kiwi, as well as the other animals available, you need to get your hands on the Taming Flute. You can find these inside Chests and the Flute Tent. If you find the Old Taming Flute, you can upgrade it by heading to the Upgrade Cabin. You can then turn it into a Good Taming Flute or a Strong Taming Flute.
To tame a Kiwi, you need x1 Berry. These are easy to find, as they appear around the map and grow on bushes.
First, find a Kiwi and start playing the Flute. A minigame will appear on the screen, where you need to press the bar at the right time so it matches the line. Once you complete this, it will ask for a Berry. Once you hand it the Berry, it will become tamed and turn into your loyal companion!
