“If you are not to award me love, then I will indulge in rage.” The monster is loose! Netflix has debuted the main official trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s new Frankenstein movie, his uniquely gothic and extra dark take on this classic story from author Mary Shelley. After premiering at the 2025 Venice & Telluride Film Festivals (read my review) it will be out in theaters first in October before streaming on Netflix. Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous death-defying experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation. The phenomenal cast includes Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s monster, along with Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Charles Dance, Christian Convery, and Ralph Ineson. This is a very loud, intense, exciting new trailer – featuring some of the best shots from the movie showing how Guillermo del Toro still remains a cinematic mastermind. I’m a big fan of this film – it’s terrific! I highly recommend catching Frankenstein on the big screen if you have the chance. Don’t skip this. // Continue Reading ›
