Manual Page is the key resource for upgrading your equipment, tools, and consumables in Dying Light: The Beast. As you start with the common rarity equipment, you can upgrade it to Rare by using the Beginner Manual Pages. The Beginner Manual Page is the lowest tier for the Manual Page, and you get them in abundance while progressing throughout the early game and exploration. However, things can get tricky when you require Intermediate and eventually Expert Manual Pages to turn your equipment into Epic and Legendary tiers. In this guide, we will tell you how to farm Intermediate and Expert Manual Pages in Dying Light: The Beast.

Manual Pages Spawn System in Dying Light: The Beast

Before we tell you the different methods to get yourself loads of manual pages, it is crucial to understand the spawn system for them. In Dying Light: The Beast, the Manual Pages spawn depending on the Area Level. The Level 1 areas will have Beginner Manual Pages, the Level 6 areas will have Intermediate Manual Pages, and the Level 11 areas will have Expert Manual Pages.

Initially, players will explore the Level 1 areas of the Castor Woods through the first few main missions. As players level up to Level 6, they will get to explore higher-level areas like Industrial Zone, Villa Area, Farmlands, etc. Lastly, once players have leveled up to Level 11, they will be able to explore the Mental Asylum, the Level 11 area in Castor Woods.

How to Farm Intermediate and Expert Manual Pages in Dying Light: The Beast

There are various ways to get Intermediate and Expert Manual Pages in Dying Light: The Beast. A couple of main methods include completing the Side Missions and Dark Zones. Exploring the Dark Zones is the main way to farm Intermediate and Expert Manual Pages, as each Dark Zone’s loot resets after a night or two (in-game). Completing the Dark Zones in Level 6 areas will get tens of Intermediate Manual Pages, which you can use to craft the Expert Manual Pages.

However, before you can craft the Expert Manual Page, you need to get 1 to acquire its blueprint. The easiest way to do it is to complete the “Chain Reaction” Side Mission. It unlocks after completing the “Some Like It Dark” main story mission and unlocking the Exile’s Cave Safe Zone. The Chain Reaction is a Level 6 quest, and it gives you 2 Expert Manual Pages as a reward.

Once you have the blueprints for the Intermediate and Expert Manual Pages, you can craft them at any point from the “Crafting” tab in the menu. To craft an Intermediate Manual Page, you must have 3 Beginner Manual Pages. For an Expert Manual Page, you must have 3 Intermediate Manual Pages.

The Dark Zones in the Old Town area are the easiest to complete, and each run will get you at least 2-3 Beginner Manual Pages. If you run through most of the Dark Zones and then sleep for two nights, the loot will reset, allowing you to run again and gather as many Beginner Manual Pages as possible. After that, you can use them to craft Intermediate ones and then the Expert.
