On the 25th and 26th of September, 2025, I had the honour of going to the Tokyo Game Show. It was busy, humid, and filled to the brim with a variety of games and developers. I’m here to give you the down low on Gamezebo at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 and everything I saw and who I spoke to! We’ve been pretty busy here at Gamezebo lately, as we also went to Gamescom in August.

Nightmare Circus

I love the circus aesthetic. The lights, the music, the designs – it’s one of my favourites! So, it was love at first sight when I saw Nightmare Circus. I got to meet the team as well, and I was even lucky enough to bump into the artist who drew the designs for the game.

In Nightmare Circus, you play as a Puppeteer trapped in the Nightmare Realm as you set out to help your friends and escape. Along the way, you can collect items to help you, and sooner or later, you’ll need to defeat a boss in battle. It’s extremely well-made, and you can tell how much love is put into it. I got a goodie bag as well with plushies and standees of the characters, which are now in my room while I wait for the full game to release in 2026.

Power Wash Simulator 2

As the name implies, this is the second game in the PowerWash Simulator series. This was also the first booth I went to visit, and the devs were great to speak to! I was hooked when I started playing. Although simple at its core, PowerWash Simulator 2 is calming and easy to play.

You get a power wash machine, and your goal is to go around and clean a variety of different buildings until they’re clean again. I lost track of time cleaning, as you can imagine, how satisfying it is to see all of the buildings become clean again. There is even lore to the game, which makes it even more exciting.

Starsand Island

Starsand Island is an upcoming cosy game with a planned release date in 2026. If you like Stardew Valley, you’ll definitely like this game. Fish, raise animals, befriend (or fall in love) with the locals, and craft or DIY items. Arguably, my favourite thing was the fact that you could completely customise your character from the clothes you wear all the way to accessories.

I loved the art style, the music, and all of the characters. If you’re someone who enjoys specific aspects of gameplay, such as fishing, you can find the relevant NPC and go down their ‘route’ to become better in that area. I know I’ll be grabbing this game the moment it releases. You can add it to your wishlist now on Steam.

Love and Deepspace / Infinity Nikki

Aside from cosy games, I also love otome games, especially Love and Deepspace. I will admit this is one of the games I was most looking forward to playing (again), and I was lucky enough to speak to one of the developers. The set-up of the booth was stunning, as all of the LADs had their own cardboard cutout in their special outfits.

Next to Love and Deepspace was Infinity Nikki, which is made by the same developers. Again, I was blown away by how the booth was set up, and it was great to see life-size versions of some of my favourite characters. If you aren’t familiar with Infold Games, make sure you check out their stuff (I hope my bias for this dev team isn’t showing too much here…).

inKONBINI

I hadn’t heard of this title until I went to TGS, but I’m so glad I know about it now! In inKONBINI, you play as a convenience store worker in a small town set in the 1990s. Stack the shelves, clean, and speak to customers. The choices you make will determine where the story goes, and overall, it’s an extremely cosy and heartfelt experience.

Let It Die: Inferno

This game will shock you… literally! Okay, I will admit I didn’t play the game at the booth, as I actually interviewed the GungHo developers and had a separate playthrough. Those who dared could enter a glass box and play Let It Die: Inferno, and get electrocuted while playing. I don’t have the guts for that, so I stuck to the safer playthrough option.

The developers told me that humour is what they value most in their games, and I can confirm this is the case. LET IT DIE: INFERNO is the perfect blend of action and comedy. Choose a raider and make your way into the abyss to conquer the Reaper’s Challenge. Defeat enemies, collect weapons, and slay slug burgers that you can eat to replenish health.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam

The Professor Layton game series is very nostalgic for me. I couldn’t be more excited to have played the upcoming game, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. The booth itself was huge, and it caught my eye the moment I walked in.

I am slightly biased with my interest in the game, because, as I said, it’s a nostalgic game for me. Whether you’re new to the franchise or an older fan, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is a great upcoming title to get you into it. The storyline is great, as well as the worldbuilding and aesthetics. You can check out the trailer below for a better look.

So, that was Gamezebo at the Tokyo Game Show 2025. Pretty exciting, right? Interested in what I did in the evenings? Well, what could you expect? I went merch shopping, of course! And I have a great haul of new Hange Zoe merch to add to my collection.

If you’d like to meet the team from Gamezebo and cover your game in a feature like this one, it’s simple. You can email us at editor@gamezebo.com. We’d love to hear from you!
