Hollow Knight: Silksong offers several useful tools to assist Hornet in fights throughout the adventure. Hornet can have up to two different tools at a time and use them simultaneously to get through difficult fights. The tools are denoted by the Red Slots of the crest. How to Get the Flintslate Tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong
The Flintslate Tool is located behind a locked door in the Deep Docks area. It is one of the early game areas in the game that players can access through the Marrow area. The location of the Flintslate Tool is not far from the main bench near Shakra’s location. However, before players can get the Flintslate, they must have the Swift Step ability and a Simple Key.
TIP: Purchase the Map and Compass from Shakra to always locate your position. Farm the enemies to farm Rosaries and purchase the maps and other useful tools.
Early Simple Key Location
Now, the first and foremost thing that is essential is acquiring the Simple Key. Pebb, the first merchant of the game in the Bone Bottom area, sells the Simple Key for 500 Rosaries. You can use this Simple Key to open a locked door in the Deep Docks and get the Flinslate Tool. Now, collecting 500 Rosaries might look like a lot, but it is very simple and easy. If you have collected any Rosary Necklaces, use them to get Rosaries. Moreover, go to the Mosshome area and eliminate Rosary enemies to get Rosaries. After eliminating them, rest at the closest bench to respawn the enemies. Once you have 500 Rosaries, go and purchase the Simple Key from Pebb.
Path to the Flintslate Tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Once you have the Swift Step ability and the Simple Key, go to the big room on the right from Shakra’s position in Deep Docks. Here, you will find a lever in the middle of the room. Attack the lever to open a path below. Go to the bottom level and continue right to initiate a small boss fight with multiple enemies. Defeat all enemies and go to the right to come across the locked door. Interact with the door and use the Simple Key to unlock it.
Continue heading in the right direction until you come across multiple platforms. Go up from the platforms, and you will see a path on the left side. Go to the left side, and you will find the Flintslate Tool at the end. Pick it up to acquire the Flinslate tool.
How to Use the Flintslate Tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Press the RB/R1 button while positioning the LS upward to use the Flintslate Tool. It has a max capacity of 3 and uses shards to refill when resting on a bench. As you use this tool, it heats the needle, allowing the slashes to deal fire damage to enemies. It is best to use it against waves of enemies and bosses.
