The Cling Grip ability is located at the shrine on top of the Shellwood area. It is one of the mid-game areas in the game that players can access through the Bellhart area. If you continue to the left from the Bellhart, you will reach the Shellwood. After that, you will have to climb up and go to the left to reach a bench in Shellwood. Continue to the left of the bench and make your way down. Go further left to find Shakra. As you continue ahead, you will see a couple of symbols, including the next bench. The next bench is at the end of the Shellwood, and the path to the shrine is above the bench symbol.
TIP: Purchase the Map and Compass from Shakra to always locate your position. Farm the enemies to farm Rosaries and purchase the maps and other useful tools.
Journey to the Shrine on top of Shellwood area
From the bench symbol, climb up by pogoing off the white flowers. As you reach the top, go to the room on the right. Continue ahead, and you will come across an elevator. Take the elevator down to unlock the shortcut from the bench. After that, head back up with the elevator and continue to the room on the right. From here, go to the left side, as you won’t be able to climb the bell on the right. Reach the next room on the left. It will initiate the boss fight with Sister Splinter.
After defeating Sister Splinter, continue to the left. Go down and avoid the flowers. There will be a room above on the left. Avoid the flowers and make your way up to reach the room. Jump ahead and go through the water to reach the surface. Keep going to the left and start climbing up to go right. Reach the room above on the right, and you will reach the Shrine. Once there, inspect the shrine and bind to receive the Cling Grip ability.
How to Use the Cling Grip Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Press the X/A button while near a wall to use the Cling Grip ability. It does not use any silk upon usage, so you can use it freely. Use it to climb up the wall surface without falling. It will allow you to reach certain platforms that you normally cannot. Moreover, you can combine it with the Swift Step and Drifter’s Cloak abilities for more mobility.
